Philips
Lumileds LUXEON M Now Fully Available
I took my son to Chuck E. Cheese tonight. I don’t know what manufacturer is responsible
for the games on the game floor, or who exactly orders the games for the
restaurant. Where is this rant
going? There were a few games there that
had LED bulbs. Who knows? Maybe the lights are a brand we carry? One of those brands, Philips, seems to be in
the news in one way or other nearly every day.
So when there’s not much to talk about in the way of brand-new products
on the website, I turn to the Web to help me find a story about the products we
carry.
Philips Lumileds has fully launched LUXEON M, which is now in
volume production. This new emitter has
already been approved for street lighting in major US cities (with designs to
be shown at Light + Building). The
LUXEON M’s high lumen output of over 1100 lumens and typical 11.2V voltage
helps lower system cost while improving system performance through the use of
low cost, high efficiency drivers.
A representative for Philips reports that everything from the
footprint to the drive requirements has been optimized based on hundreds of
discussions with customers, municipalities, and private property owners to
ensure that the product exceeds expectations and objectives.
The LUXEON M is offered in three different correlated color
temperatures with a minimum CRI of 70 and every one of them is Hot Tested and
Specified at 85 degrees Celsius. The
LUXEON M can be seen at the Lumileds stand at the Light + Building expo this month
and at LIGHTFAIR in May.
